Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy started from the inception of this college in the regime of colonial rule. The Department inherits legacy of great teachers right from Dr.Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan, legendary Philosopher and former President of India, as served here as a teacher during 1917-18. Hence, the Department draws inspiration from great Indian Philosophers and their endeavours in transmitting the precious Indian Knowledge and Culture to the next generations with utmost pride and responsibility.

Presently, the Department offers 3 programmes in BA Honors in Philosophy; B.A in Journlism & mass communication, Philosophy & Psychology (JmcPPsy); and B.A in Public Policy, Philosophy and Applied Telugu (PPPAT). The present student strength of the department 139

HILIGHTS OF THE DEPARTMENT

1. Bridge course organised for the first year students to provide basic kowledge realted to social sciences in general and Philosophy.

2. The Department mentering the students for competitive exams.

3. Observing all National important day's i.e.,Teacher’s Day is celebrated on September 5th on the occasion of former President. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s Birth day

4. Interaction and counciling being organized by the deparment.

5. Participatory pedagogical tools are adopted in teaching and learning activity

6. To inculcate the sprit among students regarding the social responsibility to support the National Intigrity.
