The Adikavi Nannaya University Inter-collegiate Football Men Tournament competitions began on 6th december 2024 at the Rajahmundry Government Arts College sports ground and ends on 7th december 2024. The unwavering support and dedication of Organizing Chairman Dr. Ramachandra RK have been instrumental in successfully hosting thistype of grand sport event. His commitment to reviving the tournament at Arts College Rajahmundry, a prestigious institution with a rich history, is truly commendable. This event, which had not been held for the past 20 years, was meticulously organized under his leadership, bringing back the spirit of competition and sportsmanship to the college. AKNU Registrar Proff . G Sudhakar garu graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the competitions. Sri Mulla Madhav garu attended the function as guest of honor Dr. A Satyanarayana garu attended this tournament as an observer and P.A Kishore Babu garu and Sri J. Srinivasa Reddy garu as members of the selection committee. A total of 90 players from six sourrounding colleges Arts college Rajahmundry SKVT Government Degree College, Rajahmundry, C.R. Reddy College, Eluru, Aditya College, Kakinada, Prakasam Degree College, Koyyalagudem, Ideal College, Kakinada, participated in the competitions. In the matches held, Ideal College, Kakinada secured first place, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork. Arts College, Rajahmundry claimed second place, showcasing remarkable determination and effort. SKVT College, Rajahmundry earned third place, displaying strong performance throughout the tournament, while Prakash College, Koyyalagudem secured fourth place with a commendable effort. Overall, a total of 18 students were selected to represent their colleges in the prestigious South Zone Inter-University Competition, which is set to take place at the University of Calicut in Kerala from December 19 to 24. This achievement highlights their dedication and outstanding talent, paving the way for them to compete at a higher level against some of the best players from across the region.
