Adikavi Nannaya University Tennis (Men & Women) Team Selections Successfully Held at Rajahmundry Government Arts College Rajahmundry Government Arts College recently hosted the Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) Intercollegiate Tennis Team Selections for Men and Women on 9th Nov 2024. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of around 20 students from various colleges across the region, competing for a spot to represent the university at the upcoming South India Inter-University Competitions in Kerala. The selection event was presided over by College Principal Dr. Ramachandra, who highlighted the college’s commitment to promoting sports and providing students with opportunities to excel at higher levels. In his address, Dr. Ramachandra emphasized the importance of sports in holistic student development and congratulated the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship. “This event is a testament to the talent within our university. We are proud to host such competitions that not only build skills but also bring students from diverse backgrounds together to pursue their passion for sports,” he said. The program was also attended by Vice Principal DVN Sriramurthy, Physical Education Incharge M. Prasad, College Alumni Association President M. Mulla Madhav, along with notable alumni including Sam Singh Garu, SS Bhargav, Gadde Sudhakar, and Kollampally Satya Prakash. The college's Sports Committee members, Dr. Lifanant Yusuf Bhasha Shaikh, Dr. M. Trinadh, and Ch. Sanjeev Kumar, as well as Physical Directors T. Vijaya Durga and PVV Lakshmi, who served as the organizing secretary, were present to support the event. The selection process was carefully overseen by university observers and selection committee members, Dr. K. Balasatyanarayana, Dr. D. V. Ramana, and Tennis Coach P. Gajendra, ensuring a fair and transparent selection of players based on merit. Dr. Ramachandra informed that the players selected in these competitions will represent Adikavi Nannaya University at the South India Inter-University Competitions at Trivandrum University in Kerala.
