CENTRE FOR AMBEDKAR LITERATURE
The Centre for Ambedkar Literature was established in order to study and promote Ambedkar literature that helps in understanding his ideology and teachings.
Objectives:
- To study Ambedkar Literature in order to understand the conditions in Indian society before independence
- To create awareness on struggles Ambedkar had to face to overcome social evils of the time like untouchability, and caste system etc.
- To appreciate the commitment of Ambedkar in challenging discrimination and understanding the importance of education in upliftment.
- To acknowledge Ambedkar’s role in framing the constitution for independent India and his foresight in predicting future problems.
- To understand the influence of Buddhism on Ambedkar and his vouch for the same.
Activities:
- Encouraging students and staff to read and understand Ambedkar Literature
- To facilitate interested students carry out study projects on Ambedkar Literature
- To conduct competitions
- To celebrate Ambedkar jayanti every year on April 14.
