CENTRE FOR AMBEDKAR LITERATURE

The Centre for Ambedkar Literature was established in order to study and promote Ambedkar literature that helps in understanding his ideology and teachings.

Objectives:

  1. To study Ambedkar Literature in order to understand the conditions in Indian society before independence
  2. To create awareness on struggles Ambedkar had to face to overcome social evils of the time like untouchability, and caste system etc.
  3. To appreciate the commitment of Ambedkar in challenging discrimination and understanding the importance of education in upliftment.
  4. To acknowledge Ambedkar’s role in framing the constitution for independent India and his foresight in predicting future problems.
  5. To understand the influence of Buddhism on Ambedkar and his vouch for the same.

Activities:

  1. Encouraging students and staff to read and understand Ambedkar Literature
  2. To facilitate interested students carry out study projects on Ambedkar Literature
  3. To conduct competitions
  4. To celebrate Ambedkar jayanti every year on April 14.
