The PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance examination
conducted by APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) for admission to PG courses
in Government and aided colleges in Andhra Pradesh. For Mathematics students, qualifying PGCET is
the primary route to join MSc Mathematics programmes at reputed government institutions, including
Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry.
Recognising that a large number of meritorious BSc Mathematics students from rural and
economically weaker backgrounds are unable to access quality coaching for PGCET, the Department of
Mathematics, Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry, launched this free coaching initiative
as a departmental outreach programme. The programme was designed to provide high-quality, exam focused coaching completely free of cost, giving every aspirant an equal opportunity to succeed.
Programme Design and Structure: The coaching programme was designed as a 45-class, intensive crash course covering all major
papers in the PGCET Mathematics syllabus. Classes were held daily from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
(Monday to Saturday) from 2nd April 2025 to 30th April 2025. The programme was thoughtfully divided
into four weekly phases, each covering specific PGCET papers, with classes allocated to faculty
members based on their specialization
