Western blotting is a laboratory technique used to identify and analyze specific proteins within a complex mixture of proteins. It combines gel electrophoresis to separate proteins based on size with antibody-based detection to pinpoint a protein of interest Sample Preparation: Proteins are extracted from cells or tissues and prepared for separation. Gel Electrophoresis: Proteins are separated based on their size using a gel electrophoresis technique.
