Government College (A)Rajahmundry Dt:04-07-2025 under the supervision of Principal Dr. Ramachandra R. K. and Vice Principal Sriramamurthy, the birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sita rama Raju were held under the auspicious Department of the History . In this occasion vice-principal Sriramamurthy spoke about the sacrifice of Alluri Seetharama Raju and praised Alluri Seetharama Raju for earning the title of Manyam Veerudu. History Hod Dr.B.Anjani kumari said that Alluri Seetharama Raju was a revolutionary hero who fought against the British rule in the surrounding areas of Visakhapatnam district and for the freedom of the tribals. In this program, the students of History, Dr. B. Anjani Kumari, Department Dr. B Bhavani, P Muralikrishna, H Sriram Pawan Kumar and History Faculty Smt. P. Tulasi Kumari, History Faculty K.Vara Parasad ,political science Farah Yashroon other faculty members and all History stdents participated.

Activity Outcomes Alluri Sitarama Raju Jayanthi Celebrations Organized by the Department of History ✅ 1. Enhanced Historical Awareness Students gained a deeper understanding of Alluri Sitarama Raju’s role in the freedom struggle, especially the Rampa Rebellion (1922–24) and the tribal resistance against British rule. ✅ 2. Promotion of Patriotism and National Values The celebration inspired students with the ideals of bravery, sacrifice, nationalism, and leadership, strengthening patriotic spirit on campus. ✅ 3. Knowledge of Tribal Freedom Movements Students learned about Adivasi participation in the Indian independence movement, highlighting the contribution of marginalised communities.

Feedback:

The event was well-organized and successfully achieved its purpose. Students gained valuable knowledge, developed confidence, and felt inspired by Alluri’s bravery. The programme promoted patriotism, cultural values, and historical consciousness among all participants.
