The CIIE of Govt. College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry has been created with the purpose of providing a platform to inculcate an inventive bent of mind among the budding entrepreneurs of the college, to nurture their creative genius into innovative ideas and to shape their enthusiasm into mini startups by providing necessary infrastructure and guidance.
The Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) was established in 2016-17. It intends to create awareness, offer exposure and to incubate the pioneering enterprises emanating from the students. It is inaugurated on 8th November, 2016 in a spacious cubicle attached to the LRC of the college. A committee is formed with a team of enthusiastic students assisted by senior faculty with to facilitate and monitor its activities
1. Self-rechargeable e-bicycle
The Department of Physics with the support of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship has incubated the idea of one of the M.Sc. 2018-20 students and brought it into reality. Usual e-bicycles will work with rechargeable batteries and when charging goes down, the bicycle stops. Most of the time, the energy supplied by the motor may not be utilized if the bicycle is in running. Keeping this in view, the student has come up with an idea of self-recharging e-bicycle. This bicycle works with normal rechargeable battery and an additional set up designed also has been attached to charge back the battery while the bicycle is in running. The battery also can be charged by using pedal movement if the charging is low. The bicycle also has an arrangement that when break is applied, the motor gets disconnected from the gear wheel, so that it won’t lead to any further accidents. The entire set up has been designed and implemented within a cost of Rs. 30,000/-. The successful implementation of the project has been documented by E-TV yuva program and also covered by district level newspapers.
2. Multi-Utility Sensor
FOR SMOKE, LPG, ALCOHOL @ ₹ 500/-
M.Sc., students of the Department of Physics have an innovative idea to develop the multi-utility sensor for Smoke, LPG and Alcohol detection with a low cost. The M.Sc, Students namely Ch.Ch.V.B.Vasanth, Ch.V.S.L.Priyanka, D.Sateesh, and G.Divya worked on the concept under the supervision of Dr.K.Ramachandra Rao, Head, Department of Physics, eventually, realized the workable and affordable Sensor with a cost of Rs.500/- . The Sensor was tested and observed that it detects the Smoke, LPG and Alcohol in the range of 1m. The team is approached to local manufacture company to engineering the concept and to commercialize, the company namely, Loknath Enterprises (Retail Trade Gas Dealer) , Kakinada, E.G.Dist, Andhra Pradesh, Contact No. 9989223444 has come forward to start up the idea with a view to encourage the young talent.
3. College App
To satisfy the long standing need of the college for easy accessibility to information and communication, the students from Computer Science Department have developed a mobile app in collaboration with ‘ulektz’ Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. This app provides various services like 24/7 connectivity between class teacher and students and sharing notices and communication apart from easy access to e-books, video lectures etc. In future, it may be linked up with other organizations as a business model.
4. Campus Radio
The Campus Radio stands out as a concrete proof of the first successful venture of CIIE. It has been launched in the campus on 19th march, 2018 in a separate cubicle attached to the Principal’s office. Its primary intention is to showcase the latent literary and cultural talents of the students.
The College Radio Committee has been constituted to chalk out the programs to be broadcast, to train the enthusiastic anchors and to design activities to inform and entertain the students daily during lunch-break. Accordingly, the talented students were identified and trained by famous RJ (Radio Jockey) Professionals to host the Campus Radio.
Now the college radio broadcasts official announcements, important News, Storytelling, Proverbs, Puzzles, Birthday wishes, Specialty of days of national and importance, Poetry, Quotations, Health tips, music, Sports news, comedies, interviews and what not. Proposals are under consideration to develop this as a professional skill and a business venture.
5. Vermi Compost:
(Solid & Wet Waste Management)
The Vermi Compost Unit of Govt. College (Autonomous) Rajahmundry is born as a mini start- up Project from a successfully incubated idea of the students of Botany and Zoology Departments. It was founded with a goal to manage the Solid and Wet waste collected in the campus. These wastes together with the garbage are recycled to produce vermi-compost and vermin-wash which can be utilized not only as bio-fertilizer but also as a source of revenue generation for the college.
6. RACC Products
RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM ARTS COLLEGE CHEMICALS
To inculcate preparation and marketing of low cost household products, leading to entrepreneurship in students, Department of chemistry initiated the preparation of house hold chemicals like Floor Cleaners, Soaps, Pain Balm and Vaseline along with students to make them hands on experience.With this experience they gain confidence to make a small scale entrepreneurship. The staff and public also got house hold chemicals at lower cost.
7. Go Green
“Go Green” is an innovative idea incubated by IQAC to promote the agro based entrepreneurial skills among the rural students. The department of Botany has come forward to offer the plant breeding technology to this project. The Department of Commerce has provided a wonderful platform under “Commerce Lab” to impart marketing skills to the students under the supervision of commerce faculty. At present, the Project is supported by fifteen students from B.A and B. Com. They have sow varieties of vegetable plants such as brinjal, tomato and ladies fingers apart from creepers like pumpkin, pear, bottle gourd, snake gourd etc. The Project has also undertaken the cultivation of flower bearing Saplings and market them for generating revenue.Read More
8. Green Enterprise

The Green Enterprise is incubated by the Department of Botany to create awareness on conservation of Green environment for future generations and to maintain the flora for research, landscaping and Joyful life etc., As Plant Biodiversity plays an important role in all walks of life, as the green cover is the primary essence for livelihood. With the practical knowledge of the horticulture students the saplings are prepared by grafting and other scientific methods in the department to spread green and move green on the earth crust.
9. College Canteen:
Inside the sprawling campus of the Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry there is canteen existing since long time that function well to serve the students and staff members.
During 2016, the administration/maintenance of the canteen has been given to one of the alumni of the college who, later turned in to an entrepreneur, to encourage the entrepreneurial skills of the students.The change of the administration of the canteen brought innovative changes in the canteen. The most important change being it becoming as an incubation centre.
The college canteen is a great place to promote an enjoyment of healthy eating, besides fostering healthy and constructive discussions to emerge out innovative ideas for start-ups in the institution.
Besides providing hygienic catering and purified drinking water at nominal price, the canteen also provides study material, Xeroxing facility and project work assistance at subsidized rates to the students.These facilities are being provided for free of cost for some of the students who cannot afford the price.
The successful students of earlier generations of the college (Alumni) very frequently visit the canteen and make their significant contribution in guiding their followers in career aspects. The canteen is open on all working days to serve the students.
