The EAGLE Club of Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry, in collaboration with the college's NCC wings, organized a sensitization programme on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26th June 2025. The event took place at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Seminar Hall.
The Chief Guest, Smt. Gandham Suneetha, Principal District and Sessions Judge, addressed the gathering, urging students to completely refrain from drug abuse. She also led the oath-taking ceremony, where students and attendees pledged to stand against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
Other dignitaries present included Acharya M.A. Abhilash, Founder of International Sajjan Samaj, and Ch. Lavanya, Superintendent, Prohibition and Excise Department.
In the evening, a mega rally was organized in collaboration with district authorities, with the participation of nearly 3000 students to raise awareness about drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Distinguished participants included District Collector Smt. P. Prasanti, IAS, Minister for Tourism and Culture Shri Kandula Durgesh Garu, City MLA Shri Adireddy Srinivas Garu, Superintendent of Police D. Narasimha Kishore, and other district officials, all of whom supported the "Nasha Mukt Bharat" campaign.
Meanwhile, NCC Boys Wing cadets of the college took part in the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" as part of the Combined Annual Training Camp – 2 by 18 (A) BN NCC held at Aditya Global University, Surampalem, where they also took a pledge against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
