As part of the 19th Foundation Day celebrations of Adikavi Nannaya University, a historic mass yoga programme was organized on 18th June 2025, under the banner of Yogandhra. Demonstrating a remarkable commitment to wellness and unity, the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 18,000 students from various affiliated colleges across East and West Godavari districts. This grand initiative earned a place in the Telugu Book of Records, making it a proud moment for the university and all its stakeholders.
Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry, a prestigious affiliated institution of the university, also actively participated in this landmark event. Around 1,000 students and staff members, including NCC cadets, took part in the yoga session, showcasing discipline, unity, and physical fitness.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. S. Prasanna Sree, addressed the gathering and proudly stated that Adikavi Nannaya University stands as one of the largest state universities in Andhra Pradesh, with the highest number of affiliated colleges and a wide range of academic programmes. She highlighted that this Yoga Mahotsav not only reflects the university's academic and cultural dynamism but also its dedication to promoting health and wellness among youth.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. K. Ramachandra Rao, Principal of Government College (A), Rajahmundry, along with Lt. Dr. Esub Basha Shaik and Dr. K. Anusha, NCC Officers, who accompanied the cadets and students during the event. Several faculty members also joined to make the occasion a collective and memorable experience.
