The Hindi Department of Government Autonomous College, Rajahmundry, grandly celebrated the birth anniversary of Rashtra Kavi Maithily Sharan Gupt on August 03, on this event Head of the department Mrs. Sheikh Jareena Begum highlighted and Presiding over the event of Rashtra Kavi Maithily Sharan Gupt. HoD elobrate Maithili Sharan Gupt was one of the most important modern Hindi poets. He is considered one among the pioneers of Khadi Boli poetry and wrote in Khadi Boli dialect, at a time when most Hindi poets favoured the use of Braj Bhasha dialect. He was a recipient of the third highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Bhushan. Dr. K. Goutham, a faculty member of the Hindi Department, elaborated on how awakened society through his poetry.
