World Earth Day is a global initiative that is observed every year on 22nd April to promote the concept of ‘Save the Earth’ since 1970. It has grown into the world’s largest environmental movement, inspiring policy changes, academic research, and individual action. The 2025 World Earth Day is celebrated with the theme "Our Power, Our Planet". The students and faculty members of Departments of Botany, Geology, and English of the Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry participated in this event at Pushkaravanam in collaboration with the authorities of Forest Department of Andhra Pradesh., It is a thought-provoking and action- oriented event. The celebration brought together faculty, students, and forest officials to explore environmental concerns, share insights, and initiate green actions.

Outcome:

• Enhanced environmental literacy among students. • Strengthened interdepartmental and institutional partnerships. • Initiation of sapling monitoring plans by NSS and student volunteers. • Proposal to create a micro forest within college premises using the Miyawaki method, in collaboration with the Forest Department. •Documentation of the event for NAAC and internal quality assurance records.

Feedback:

1. Participation and Engagement: o All 35 students actively participated in the event, showing keen interest throughout the sessions. 2. Environmental Awareness and Motivation: o 100% of the students reported that they felt highly motivated after understanding the critical challenges facing the Earth and environment. o The session inspired a strong sense of responsibility among the participants to act as protectors of nature. o All students took an environmental oath, pledging to contribute to environmental conservation in their personal and academic lives. 3. Emotional and Intellectual Response: o The students expressed immense happiness and satisfaction for being a part of such a meaningful and thought-provoking program. o They appreciated the structure, content, and delivery of the sessions which effectively raised awareness and encouraged introspection. 4. Suggestions for Future Initiatives: o A unanimous suggestion was received to conduct such programs more frequently.
