Report on Deeksharambh - Student Induction Programme 2024-2025 Government College (A), Rajahmundry - Department of Philosophy. The Department of Philosophy, Government College (A), Rajahmundry, successfully organized *Deeksharambh, a comprehensive student induction program for the newly admitted students for the 2024-2025 academic year. The program aimed at easing the transition of students into the college environment by offering guidance and support in various aspects such as socialization, academic exposure, and self-development. The initiative followed the SAGE framework—Socializing, Associating, Governing, and Experiencing. Objectives of Deeksharambh: The primary goals of the student induction program were to: 1. Help students acclimatize to their new academic environment. 2. Build familiarity with the college structure, departments, and available resources. 3. Encourage holistic development through physical, creative, and intellectual activities. 4. Introduce the new students to the values and ethics upheld by the institution. Key Activities: The program spanned multiple days and involved various engaging and educational activities designed to cover the following aspects: 1. Physical Activity: A daily routine of physical exercises and yoga sessions was conducted to promote health and stress relief among the students. These activities helped to inculcate a sense of discipline and well-being. The *stress relief yoga program* received positive feedback from students who found it beneficial for both physical and mental health. 2. Mentoring: Senior students and faculty members mentored the new students to help them navigate the college system. This created a supportive environment where freshers could freely discuss their concerns and seek advice from their seniors and teachers. 3. Familiarization with Department/Branch: Students were given guided tours of the various departments and branches related to their respective fields of study. In particular, the Department of Philosophy organized sessions to introduce the structure of their curriculum and important aspects of philosophical studies. These familiarization activities helped students understand the academic expectations and learning resources available within the department. 4. Creative Arts and Culture: The program included creative and performing arts activities aimed at fostering creativity and self-expression among students. Additional Highlights: New Education Policy & New Degree Programs: The college explained the recently introduced New Education Policy (NEP) to the students, highlighting its importance in shaping the future of higher education. Along with this, students were introduced to newly offered degree programs, which focus on interdisciplinary learning and skill development. College History and Library Visit: Students were given a detailed account of the rich history of Government College (A), Rajahmundry, its contributions to the field of education, and the distinguished alumni who have graduated from the institution. A special visit to the college library was organized, where students were informed about the resources available and how to utilize them effectively for their academic growth. Clean and Green Program : As part of the induction program, a *clean and green initiative* was conducted, where students actively participated in campus beautification efforts. This instilled a sense of responsibility towards environmental sustainability and care for the college premises. Conclusion: The *Deeksharambh* program successfully achieved its objective of helping new students integrate into the college environment through a blend of academic, physical, cultural, and social activities. The participation and enthusiasm displayed by both the students and the faculty contributed to the success of the program. This induction has set a solid foundation for the students to embark on their academic journey with confidence and a strong sense of belonging.
