Yoga - A Critical Observation Lifestyle On July 29, 2025, the Department of Philosophy at Government Arts College, Rajamahendravaram, organized a special Vimarsha lecture titled "Yoga: Critical Observation Lifestyle." Held in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, the program aimed to educate students on the practical benefits of Yoga for daily life. Keynote speaker Sri Gandikota Srinivas emphasized that Yoga fosters mental stability through physical discipline, enabling individuals to achieve goals with clarity. He beautifully compared the practice to water, which finds a new path beyond obstacles, urging students to adopt Yoga as a holistic lifestyle rather than just a routine exercise. The College Principal, Dr. K. Ramachandra Rao, noted that while science and technology have advanced, their true value lies in human well-being. He highlighted Yoga’s timeless relevance, pointing out that it predates modern science and is practiced even by scientists today. Additionally, Dr. Kasturi Seetamahalakshmi, the Department In-charge, described Yoga as a "guiding teacher" that helps students reach their aspirations through consistency. The event concluded with a strong call for students to practice Yoga regularly to experience its full transformative power. The event featured an interactive Q&A session, enriching the participants' understanding of Yoga’s philosophical and practical dimensions. Students from the Philosophy, Political Science, and Social Work departments participated actively alongside faculty members, including Dr. Sivakoti Rani, Smt. Saroja, Smt. Syed Farah, Muppidi Mahesh, and Satyam Suryanarayana. The program concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Smt. Syed Farah, expressing gratitude to the resource person and college authorities. Overall, the lecture successfully inspired students to adopt Yoga as a daily lifestyle to achieve mental clarity, physical well-being, and academic excellence.
