Date: July 15, 2025
Duration:

1 day(s)

Venue:

ZPH School, Vemagiri

Target:

High school from remote areas

Number of Participants:

80

Recognizing the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical exposure in school education, particularly in under-resourced areas, the Department of Physics, Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry, initiated the "Lab to School" program. Many schools, including ZPH School,Vemagiri have limited laboratory facilities. The initiative aimed to supplement classroom learning by delivering live demonstrations and experiments directly to 8 to 10th-grade students, making science more approachable and engaging.

Organizer(s):

Department of Physics

Outcome:

1.Enhanced Conceptual Understanding: School students gained hands-on knowledge of fundamental concepts in light, optics, and renewable energy through simple and engaging experiments. 2.Practical Exposure: By participating in demonstrations like refraction, reflection, dispersion, periscope construction, and renewable energy models, students connected classroom learning with real-life applications. 3.Active Participation: Students were encouraged to operate experimental setups, ask questions, and interact with PG students and faculty, which boosted their curiosity and confidence in science learning. 4.Collaborative Learning: PG students actively explained experiments along with faculty, creating an interactive teaching-learning atmosphere and strengthening their own communication and teaching skills. 5.Inspiration for Future Learning: The program motivated school students to explore science beyond textbooks, fostering interest in renewable energy and innovative technologies.
