The School of Sciences, Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry, celebrated National Science Day 2026 with great enthusiasm from 26–28 February 2026 under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.” The celebrations began with the 26th College Open Day on 26 February, where all science departments showcased student projects, working models, and laboratory demonstrations. Around 700 school students from nearby institutions visited the college . On 27 February, the Department of Physics organized Popular Science Lectures, where eminent speakers shared insights on scientific research and innovation, attracting the participation of nearly 300 students and faculty members. The main event on 28 February was the Conclave on Raman Effect, conducted at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Seminar Hall by the Department of Physics. Distinguished women professionals from various scientific and professional fields delivered inspiring keynote addresses highlighting the importance of women’s contributions to science and national development. Several competitions such as quizzes, poster presentations, science projects, essay writing, debates, and PPT presentations were organized for college students by different science departments. The celebrations concluded with a valedictory function, during which prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners.
