The Department of English, Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry, organised a Guest Lecture on 5th August 2025 in the premises of the Faculty Development Academy (FDA). Dr. Vaibhav Sabnis, Professor of English, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial College of Law, Dhule, Maharashtra, delivered an insightful talk on the topic “Language and Literature in the Digital Age.”
The event was presided over by Mrs. Sri Lakshmi, In-charge, Department of English, Government College (A), Rajahmundry. The lecture was attended by students of B.A. Special English, B.A. Philosophy, and the faculty members of the Department of English.
In his lecture, Dr. Vaibhav Sabnis highlighted the significant impact of digital tools and technology on the teaching and learning of language and literature. He elaborated on how digital platforms have transformed pedagogical approaches in schools and colleges, making literature more accessible and interactive. He also introduced the audience to newly emerging literary genres born out of the digital era.
Dr. Sabnis’ engaging and thought-provoking session captivated both students and faculty, sparking a lively discussion on the future of literary studies in the digital context.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. A. Rajeswari, Lecturer in English. All the faculty members of the English Department actively participated in the programme, making it a memorable academic interaction.
