Rajamahendravaram, October 21: An awareness workshop on blood, organ and body donation was organized by the Department of English, Government College (A), Rajamahendravaram, in collaboration with Savitribai Phule Educational and Charitable Trust (SPECT), Visakhapatnam, here on Monday.
Delivering the inaugural address, the college Principal, Dr. Ramachandra R.K., encouraged all students to actively participate in this noble cause. The workshop featured Dr. Seethamahalakshmi, Chairperson of SPECT, and V. Vinod Balu, General Secretary of SPECT, as resource persons.
Seethamahalakshmi elaborated on the significance of blood donation, organ donation, and body donation, emphasizing how these acts play a crucial role in saving lives. She passionately advocated that each individual has the power to make a difference by contributing to these causes. She also encouraged the students to spread awareness about organ, blood, and eye donation, motivating more people to come forward and make a meaningful impact.
Mrs. M. Srilakshmi, Head of the Department of English, along with other lecturers and students, actively participated in the workshop. English Department Head and faculty members felicitated Dr. Seethamahalakshmi and Vinod Balu, for their presence and valuable contributions as resource persons. The students' enthusiasm and engagement throughout the session reflected their commitment to this life-changing initiative.
