Human rights constitute the foundation of a democratic and constitutional society. Awareness of rights, duties, equality, dignity, liberty, social justice and constitutional safeguards is particularly important for students of Political Science, who are expected to understand democratic institutions and contribute responsibly to society.
In this context, the Department of Political Science, Government College (A), Rajahmundry entered into an academic and institutional collaboration with HRPACI with the objective of strengthening awareness and activities relating to human rights.
The initiative is consistent with the Department's continuing emphasis on constitutional values, civic responsibility and human-rights education. The Department has previously conducted Human Rights Day programmes, debates and awareness activities for students.
