The Department of Political Science actively participated in the National Handloom Day celebrations organised at Government College (A), Rajahmundry on 7 August 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness about India's rich handloom heritage, recognise the contribution of handloom artisans and emphasise the importance of preserving traditional occupations.
The programme also provided an opportunity to connect academic learning with practical social issues. From the perspective of Political Science, handloom is linked with governance, public policy, rural development, employment, welfare, social justice, cultural identity and inclusive development.
